What We Love About the Bento Trio Lunchbox
What’s so great about this lunch box? It’s simple, well-made, thoughtfully designed, and it does it’s job. Plus it’s tough enough to last through years of commuting.
All of LunchBots’ products are made of Type 304 stainless steel (also know as 18/8 stainless steel), which is a food-grade material. There are not plastics used at all and no aluminum.
We particularly like the Bento Trio because its the right size for an adult’s meal and it can accommodate a full sandwich in the main compartment. The Bento Cinco has five compartments, but they are too small to accommodate something like a salad or sandwich. Keep in mind that the “Bento” series is LunhBot’s adult-sized meal size. If you want something smaller — and considerably cheaper — we also love the $15 Uno model.
About the Price…
Let’s get this out of the way right now: the Bento Trio is expensive. With a street price of between $33 and $39, it’s a considerable purchase. After all, that’ll get you thousands of paper bags and hundreds of feet of aluminum foil!
The way we look at it this: based on how much food the Trio holds (a full meal), you’re going to have to spend at least $8 if you want to go out and buy a lunch. So the break-even price of the Bento Trio is just one work week. So if you use the lunchbox for more than 5 days, then the savings starts. So long as the lunchbox last and you don’t lose it, you’re saving hundreds of dollars in the long run.
