If you have a small kitchen eating area then you need a small table for placing in that spot. Unfortunately finding a small kitchen or dining table isn’t as easy as you might expect.
Having had the same problem in the past, here are some great suggestions for small table needs.
Small Dine-In Spaces
Some houses and apartments, even rather large ones, have small eating areas. This can be an eat-in kitchen, a breakfast nook, or even an oversized pantry where you’ll want to put a small table. It’s a more popular issue with city apartments and condos that technically have an eat-in kitchen but then only have room for a table that is suited for 2 or 3 people.
A small space doesn’t mean you need a bad table though, as there are many great options to be had in 2021.
The Best Small Kitchen Table For Your Home
Here are some small, affordable tables that will suit any style and decor.

Ikea Gamlared Round Table
The Ikea Gamlared is a handsome, small table that will work in most kitchens. It has a lacquered, solid pine wood top that gives it a quality look and black legs that blend it into any home.
With a 33.5″ diameter it’s ideal for 2 people when placed in a corner, but it can seat up to 4 if you move it away from a wall.
- Surface Space: 6.1 square feet
- Price: $89.00

Ikea Lerhamn Square Table
If you’d prefer the extra space and solid looks of a square table then the Ikea Lerhamn is a popular and excellent option. It’s sold with a pine top and white bottom or in fully antique black paint. Both options are nice, with the black having a bit more of a dorm room appeal and the pine being more classic.
This table is very affordable, selling for under $70 and its 29 1/8″ x 29 1/8″ size is makes it ideally suited to be a small kitchen table. A square table is great for corners or up against a wall, though you’ll want to be careful of putting it near a walkway as you can clip your hip on the corners which won’t happen with a round table.
- Surface Space: 5.89 square feet
- Price: $69.00

Ashton Table With Shelves
The Ashton table from Hashtag Home is a small table with seating for two and a set of shelves along one side. You get four open shelves, which are perfect for the storage you’ll need in a small kitchen. You can put your salt and pepper, silverware, some drinking glasses and all sorts of other odds and ends there, saving the top space for eating and working.
The table is made of particle board, so it’ll be sturdy and heavy, but you’ll need to build it yourself and taking it apart in the future will be a pain.
- Surface Space: 6.25 square feet
- Price: $190.00

Drift Round Table
The Drift table from AllModern proves that a small table doesn’t have to be a budget table. The table is quite small — just 31″ in diameter — which means it’s ideal for 2 people but won’t stretch to 4.
This stylish, high-end design combines Italian Carrara marble with an oak frame to create a table that is both handsome and sturdy. The white marble is timeliness, but you’ll need to watch oils on it as they can be absorbed into the marble and create spots.
- Surface Space: 5.4 square feet
- Price: $849

Ikea Docksta Round Table
If you want something cleaner and more modern then the Ikea Docksta is your pick. It’s an all-white table that is made of particleboard, laminate topping and with plastic edging, so basically it’s a step down in construction quality from the other Ikea tables here, but it’s still sufficiently nice.
The table reminds me of the Saarinen Tulip table, which costs about 15x more, but that table is sold in a 42″ diameter size were the Docksta is 40.5″. Even so, the Docksta is about as big as you can go and still consider it a table for small kitchens, as it can seat 4 people without problems.
- Surface Space: 8.9 square feet
- Price: $179
